Week 1

Ok, it has been a little while since I last blogged. I have been so busy promoting my Beachbody business!
My results so far- 8lbs and 6 inches lost in 1 week! I have stopped drinking anything other than water, no more caffeine, no meat (which is fine by me because I’m not really a fan, this part is not part of a Beachbody diet, just my choice), I have limited my carbs, and eat about 1300 calories a day. Thanks to the Shakeology, I have absolutely no cravings. I don’t want sweets, which is think is mainly because I get my chocolate fix with my shake everyday, I am not looking to snack all day like I was before, and I feel amazing. I have a tremendous amount of energy, and don’t have a hard time waking up in the morning.  I’m so excited to go to my cardiologist tomorrow and see what he says!
A lot of people have asked me about Shakeology and have told me they want to order it. I know that price can seem a bit expensive for a shake. But- it is really $4 a day, $28 a week. Think about how much you spend of coffee or fast food or take out in any given week. I’m sure that if you are anything like me it probably added up fast and probably even cost more per month. It took Dave a long time (8 months) to agree to let me do this so I know it can be a challenge! But bottom line is I would much rather spend the money on something that is making me healthy and allowing me to live a happy life and feel good about myself. I want to help other people do the same thing. It just takes time to realize how good this is for your body. It is not like any other shake out there. It is so packed with super foods and vitamins it would cost several hundred dollars to duplicate.
Well it’s time to do my room mom duties and go to the monthly PTO meeting at school, but you better believe I will be Turbo Jamming when I get home!!

Black Friday Madness

Thanksgiving was great. We went to my Grandmother’s house and ate tons of food. Isabella had 3 huge pieces of turkey and that’s it. She is definitely a meat eating girl, unlike her mother.
After dinner we went home and I took a 2 hour power nap, then it was on to Black Friday shopping madness. (While I was napping, Dave started his online shopping).  First stop on my list was Toys R Us. I didn’t have anything specific to get (everyone always asks me because they think I’m crazy for going). I got there around and had to wait in line outside until about .  There were no carts left so I had to carry a giant plastic bag. (It turned out to be a good thing because it forced me to not go overboard on toys because I didn’t want to carry it)! The line to check out was long, which is always expected, but it only took about 30 minutes. After Toys R Us, I headed to Target. I had to park in the Kohls lot and again there were no carts. I wasn’t planning on getting anything big so I thought I wouldn’t need a cart anyway. But, after I got 3 huge rolls of wrapping paper I decided a cart would be a good thing because in that crowd carrying 3 rolls of wrapping paper was dangerous! I asked an employee about carts and she sent me to the parking lot (and watched my loot while I was out there). After about 5 minutes of stalking shoppers in the lot I found a cart, ran back to my things and continued shopping. I didn’t see a line so I figured it couldn’t be that bad. I was wrong. I headed to the line and realized that it started all the way in the back of the store and weaved in and out of every single aisle on the check-out side of the store. Now if it had at least gone through aisles that were interesting I wouldn’t have minded, but I do not enjoy standing in the adult diaper aisle for 30 minutes. I finally got to check out after 2.5 hours.
Next stop was Boscovs. I parked my car by the jewelry entrance. They opened at , and there was only 1 other car. I thought I would be able to walk right in, no lines. Well, at I headed to the door to find out that the “line” started inside the mall. When I got inside I was number 455 to get in. The line went fast though and I won a free blanket (which is warm but the color is awful). I met my Mom around , and the shopping bonanza began. We shopped at Boscovs until , than went to breakfast. After breakfast I went home, said hi to Isabella and Dave, than took a nap. I woke up at , and headed to Colonie Center. It was so crowded. Went to 2 stores, came home and slept from 3-6, woke up and had dinner then went back to bed for the night.
It was a very busy, but very productive Black Friday. Isabella is done (well expect for a few little things).
So happy that Christmas is coming! I love this time of year.

Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
Just to name a few:
*My beautiful daughter Isabella who calls me "the best Mommy in the whole town"

*My husband Dave who puts up with me

*My family for always supporting me

*For being able to stay home and be a Mom full-time
*For my friends that are always there to listen to me
*My health and my families health

It's important not to take anything or anyone in life for granted. I am so blessed to have this life, and so very thankful for everyone in it.

'Tis the Season

I have always loved the holiday season. I love decorating, cooking and baking, and spending time with my family.
I have come to realize that this time of year is much more fun when you have a child. This year in particular Isabella has definitly grasped the concept of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. (She does believe however that she will have another Birthday on Christmas)..
Sitting home with my sick Isabella today I have really started to realize that it doesn't matter what it is, every advertisement she sees whether it be on TV or in a magazine I get "ohh Mom I want that", or "ohhh I'm gonna ask Santa for that". It has started to get a little out of control though. I really don't think Santa is going to bring her a car insurance plan, a food processor, a power drill or pajama jeans.. At least we know that she will be happy with whatever Santa brings her! (We are still working on the "list" to mail Santa, which she wanted me to add-"please no clothes this year"). My child always makes me laugh.

First Blog.. Ever

I have always wanted to blog. Mainly because everyone always tells me that I should write a book about the events in my everyday life. (and events usually mean something that my adorable daughter did that day).
Since this is my first blog post I guess I should start from the beginning, and I don't mean from the day I was born, I am referring to the start of my life as a wife and Mom.
I met my husband Dave in June 2004, the 10th to be exact. About 5 minutes into our first date I had a pretty good idea that he would be the man that I would marry. ( It did however take a few years before I would actually admit that to him). We got engaged in August of 2005, and married September 23, 2006. We were your typical newlyweds. Loved to have parties with our friends, loved going out to dinner or to get drinks. On March 8th of 2006 our lives changed forever. I found out I was pregnant the day after Dave's birthday. I was in a state of panic and excitement all at the same time. (excitement to tell Dave and my friends, panic to tell my parents). I called Dave while he was at work and told him the news. He thought I was joking and told me that he was busy and didn't have time for the joke. When I got silent and then started crying, he knew that it wasn't a joke! I was so excited for him to come home and show him the 5 tests that I took. But I also knew that at some point I would have to tell my parents. Now you may be thinking, "why would you be afraid to tell your parents, you are an adult, you are married.."  Well, my Mom never takes news of any kind well. (When I told her Dave and I were moving in together before we were married, she locked herself in her bedroom and didn't come out for over a day). So I waited until after I went to the OBGYN to confirm everything and called..
My parents knew I had to go to the doctor, but they didn't know why. So when I called Mom asked me if everything was ok. I replied yes. She asked why I went to the doctor.. I started to sweat, there was no turning back, but I couldn't get the words out! I never responded to her question so she asked again, and again. Finally she blurted out- "Jessica are you pregnant"? I instantly started to cry and said yes. She was silent, I felt like I just disappointed my Mother. She handed the phone to my Dad and told me to tell him. I have never had a problem talking to my Dad about anything, so I told him right away and he was very happy and excited. I think once my Mom heard Dad's reaction she calmed down over the shock that her daughter, her only child, who was only married for four and a half months, was having a baby. (The next day she informed me that she told everyone I was pregnant, the uttered to me "that baby better be a girl because we do not have boys")!
9 months later on November 12, 2007 by beautiful baby girl Isabella Grace was born.
And that leads me to where I am today. A proud stay at home Mom and Wife and wouldn't change anything for the world.
